Canadian Black Friday sales rose 6 percent to an estimated $865 million, supported by strong demand, deeper discounts, and growing use of AI-led search tools. Buy Now, Pay Later nearly doubled, and mobile wallet payments increased as shoppers sought flexible payment options. AI influenced about $173 million in purchases, and retailers are watching how economic pressure shapes behaviour through Cyber Monday and December.

Walmart’s Q3 revenue grew 5.8 percent, driven by a 27 percent increase in global e-commerce and strong growth in same-day delivery. Automation and AI-supported logistics are improving productivity and lowering delivery costs as Walmart prepares to introduce minute-by-minute delivery estimates. Digital sales across the U.S., international markets, and Sam’s Club highlight the company’s continued shift toward a tech-focused omnichannel model.

Canada’s luxury apparel market is outperforming expectations in 2025, with projected growth of 3.9 to 5.6 percent after overall apparel spending rose 9.7 percent through August. The rebound is fueled by strong specialty store and accessory sales, rising tourism, and steadier luxury imports from Europe. With major urban markets recovering and global brands reporting momentum, Trendex expects one of the sector’s strongest post-pandemic years.

Delivery volumes continue to rise, yet many courier operations still rely on manual processes that cannot meet today’s speed expectations. Automation and smarter dispatch tools improve visibility, optimize routes, and reduce daily workarounds for drivers and dispatchers. The biggest gains come when technology supports people, helping teams scale as last-mile pressure increases.

An AWS-backed report shows rapid AI adoption in Canada, with 160,000 new business users added this year and most reporting higher revenue and productivity. Despite strong progress, AWS says Canada needs better alignment across skills, commercialization, regulation, and public-sector adoption to stay competitive. With major investments in cloud infrastructure and training, AWS argues coordinated action will strengthen the country’s AI position.
