Freight Rates Surge Due to Red Sea Diversions

Container freight rates from Asia to Europe have surged 30% as large ships divert from the Red Sea due to Houthi attacks. This disruption has increased costs and potential delays, with importers facing higher expenses and struggling to secure shipments. Longer routes and higher fuel consumption further drive up rates, highlighting geopolitical risks in global trade.
