Lulu’s Fashion Lounge Holdings saved money in Q1 by diversifying shipping carriers, according to CFO Tiffany Smith. This strategy led to a nearly 16% year-over-year decrease in cost of revenue, despite a 17% drop in total orders as the brand targets more profitable customers, noted CEO Crystal Landsem.

At the Advanced Clean Truck Expo, Tesla’s Semi executive Dan Priestley urged truck makers to accelerate electric truck adoption. Highlighting the Tesla Semi’s advantages, he pushed for rapid scaling and industry-wide use of Tesla’s charging standard. Tesla plans to produce 50,000 Semis annually by 2026, with PepsiCo receiving 50 more soon.

Autonomous robots, including a “robot dog” and transport robots, are now handling cargo at Munich Airport. As part of the €7 million Digital Testbed Air Cargo (DTAC) project, these robots enhance efficiency by performing labour-intensive tasks, aiming to optimize air freight through digitization and better networking.

Container freight rates from Asia to Europe have surged 30% as large ships divert from the Red Sea due to Houthi attacks. This disruption has increased costs and potential delays, with importers facing higher expenses and struggling to secure shipments. Longer routes and higher fuel consumption further drive up rates, highlighting geopolitical risks in global trade.

Toyota Motor North America and FuelCell Energy launched Tri-gen, a renewable energy system at the Port of Long Beach. Producing renewable electricity, hydrogen, and water from biogas, Tri-gen powers Toyota’s largest North American vehicle-processing facility, which handles 200,000 Toyota and Lexus vehicles annually.
