Retailers can expect a sales boost as Canadians embrace these shopping events.

Many independent stores survive despite Amazon by offering experiences and products that online shopping can’t easily replicate. Items requiring in-person inspection, like bikes and furniture, attract shoppers who value a hands-on approach. Bookstores and specialty shops thrive through curated inventory, events, and personalized customer service, fostering loyalty. Additionally, resale in physical stores is a unique draw, making each visit different and adding a “wow” factor that Amazon can’t offer.

AI is a key focus for retail supply chains, with retailers like Amazon and Walmart using it for efficiency and sustainability. However, many brands struggle to fully leverage AI due to a lack of centralized data. As AI advances, it will enable autonomous decision-making, making supply chains more agile and predictive.

Canadian consumers are prioritizing value due to economic pressures, balancing savings with quality experiences. Younger shoppers seek top dining and retail, while older consumers focus on reliability and service. Middle-aged Canadians manage rising costs by seeking value. Retailers can build loyalty by offering exclusive deals on social media.
